Retailing vs wholesaling

This thread aims at comparing and contrasting between a wholesaler and a retailer and ascertain which may be better or come to a suitable conclusion.

First and foremost taking a wholesaler into consideration, this is the link between the producer and either the retailer or consumer. Such a person buys in bulk and resells to the retailer in medium quantities.
They have the advantage of getting subsidy from producers and many other privileges that manufacturers may give out. For perishable products, wholesalers may have to battle and cope with losses at some point.

A Retailer as stated earlier, buys goods and commodities in medium quantities from the wholesaler and sells in bit to consumers.
They are not very susceptible to losses on perishable products as they purchase a lesser amount and sell within a short period of time.

Which ever of the two you decide to pick as better depends on your considered factors and both of them are of course an important link in the chain of production.

In my own opinion a wholesaler is one who buys goods directly from the manufacturer in large quantities and then sells it to the retailer. The wholesaler and the manufacturer work hand in hand it is almost impossible for a manufacturer to succeed without the wholesaler and the wholesaler is usually termed as the middleman.It the wholesaler the manager's been who's been stored in the storage facilities and also the wholesaler are the ones that market or advertise the goods to the public letting the public to know the kinds of goods that is being produced and manufactured. And the wholesaler are the ones that first take the goods from its point of production to the market.

While on the retailer's part the retailer are those ones that buys this good in smaller quantities and sells it directly to the consumer. The retailers are the ones that directly sell the goods today consumer. I know so in a retailing business the amount of capital needed in starting up such business is usually small.
