Nigeria owns some good numbers of industries and most of these industries are manufacturing industries responsible for turning of raw material into new product by the use of mechanical or chemical process . To the more elaborate the manufacturing industry is concerned with the activity of those who engage in processing and turning raw materials produced in the primary industries into finished products after going through different process to add value and utility . Examples of manufacturing industries that exist in Nigeria are : shoe making , food processing , plastic processing , and textile processing etc .
In Nigeria it has never been easy for the manufacturing industry , hence they face some factors that hinders the limit their effectiveness some of these factors include :
* Raw material shortage : this is considered to be one of the major reason why manufacturing industries are producing output in low scale , the lack of sufficient raw materials available for industries hinders large-scale production , and without this raw material available at their disposal productivity slows down .
* Insufficient capital : the government in Nigeria I'm making it difficult for manufacturing industries to access finance or loan , which could serve as capital to acquire raw materials for production and only big time investors who possess collateral securities have access to this loan and grants .
