Olives are only ever grown for their oil. The olive fruit is used to extract about 90% of the oil. Olive oil can be consumed and has medicinal properties. Olives and their oil are therefore in high demand on the global market. Olives are mostly produced in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and the neighboring gulf states. Olive cultivation is expanding in India.
This is the best way to get olive oil from farming and extraction of the oil successful.
