Your points are well stated when it comes to choosing a career for ourselves. We shouldn't be moved by others achievement, and trying to replicate on that by forcing ourselves in to be like them even when they took another route to be successful. We should not feel to overwhelmed or feel anxiety when chasing our dream.

Career choosing is the hardest part of one's life. Some people have chosen wrong careers basically because of peer pressure or wrong advice maybe from parents. I have written an article on the reasons why it is even bad for parents to be choosing career for their children. We first need to know ourselves and know our strength before we choose any career.

Following peer pressure to make a choice in the career that you want, normally doesn't work because you find that you will go study a course that you have no intention with so eventually people like those end up dropping in collage. There so many college drop outs out here who said they couldn't be able to complete their course due to it being hard for them. Yet they choose that course on pleasing other people who are capable of finish the course.
