The profession you choose should be able to make you enough money to pay bills and also help save money and invest money. Therefore, you should consider choosing a career that's on demand. For example, if you love writing short story but cannot make money as a short story writer, you could article writing, or copywriting. Well, you might find pleasure writing short story but if you cannot pay your bills, do you really think you should continue with stories or do you think you should try something else? If you're good at writing poems, you could write greeting card messages, or if you're good at essays, you could learn copywriting and make money that way.
