To be frank, I have been reading and hearing all about vegetables that I have this impression - any vegetable is good for our health and that includes the tubers (potato, sweet potato, taro, yam, etc) and also the leaves of some trees that we use for making soup. Even if there is no concrete proof or studies I still go for vegetables. However, it is my taste that would always prevail. I love broccoli and cauliflower, lettuce, okra and other tropical vegetables. But I do not like celery and its relatives because I couldn't come to terms with the taste. In our country the most common vegetable is the water spinach. I like that vegetable but it is not allowed for me. Our doctor said that water spinach is hard to digest and my digestive system may be acidic.
