When Should a Business Pay it's Employees?

This is a matter of concern to me presently. My workplace owes me salary for a few months we worked on and off, but we have worked daily for a month now without payment.

Some new workers are also complaining of the late payment. In my research, I realized that some work places pay weekly, every two weeks or monthly, and most pay within a week after the salary is due.

What is the best practice when it comes to payment of salaries as a business owner, and how can one calculate how much to pay each staff?

Can a business also pay salary beforehand?

Timely payment of salaries is also a motivation to employees. Whatever payment method a company uses in paying it's employees, payment must be done on time. Many employees depends on their salaries for a living. So when payment is delayed it affects the plans of employees and this act can demoralize employees in their work
