We all know a sole proprietor as an individual who establishes or goes into business or trading without the involvement of an outsider but to some extent he or she can really use the help of any of his or her relative or family members mostly his wife and his children basically. But what can happen if the sole proprietor does not have a wife or child, well in such a situation he is expected to employ a support staff. The word support staff, could also mean a sales boy or a sales girl, who majorly have two major roles to play in the business of the sole proprietor. The sales boy or the sales girl can either act on behalf of the sole proprietor in the situation when he or she isn't around to attend to customers, or the sales boy or sales girl can merely help the sole proprietor to carry out various business activities and practices such as running errands, depositing money into the bank, or going to get stock or inventory delivered by suppliers.

Whatever the case maybe it can totally be helpful for a sole proprietor to employ a support staff who could be a sales boy or a sales girl. The support staff has the right to be compensated by the sole proprietor as agreed and stipulated during the initial employment status of the support staff. The support staff as well, owes fiduciary duties to sole proprietor in all areas of the business, thereby making sure to advise the sole proprietor in all technical matters of the business or in areas where the supervisor maybe deviating.
