In managing business, there is need to employ different means that will ensure that the workers are fully integrated in the decision making of the organization. This will increase their sense of belongings.

The process by which workers are allowed to at least take part in the decision that will directly or indirectly affect their conditions of works and them is termed employee participatory models.

There are many ways by which workers can now be allowed. Those ways include:
1. Delegating some powers from the managers to the workers.
2. Some managers do accepts contributions from workers and they do take decisions alone.
3. Some managers take decisions and give many many reasons why the workers should accept the decisions instead of imposing them on them.
4. In Germany, workers do have representative that will represent them expecially during the bird meetings.
5. Some mangers sit down with workers, reasons together and take decisions together.

All these are for the progress of the organizations and the improvement on the workers.

When it comes to making decisions in the operation the big companies place the responsibility on the head of the division (a group of departments) or on the manager of the department. They are the usual participants in the meeting to formulate a change in the policy or in crafting a new policy. The staff has nothing to do with that.

That's very correct but it is still saddened that there are some companies that still don't put into cognizance the interest of their workers. They look down on them and don't involve them while making decisions. Maybe they have forgotten that workers are the drivers of a successful business anywhere.

This needs a lot of monitoring time because some workers aren't flexible to company changes and needs a lot of work to change their manner of working however some others are flexible and adapted to new kind of situations and work so workers attitudes are different from one worker to another. Otherwise change worker from one department to another isn't easy decision because you will find yourself change many things in the same time. What you said is true but hardly practiced in real life.

Those are very points you have made. Encouraging employee participation truly gives them a sense of belonging and they feel appreciated. Decision making is one of those areas that they should be given a forum to give suggestions. Especially since company decisions also affect them largely. Also, giving workers some powers gives them pride that they are considered in the company.

That is never going to help them succeed if they do not change. Most successful firms usually seek their employees view about things happening before going ahead to take a decision that would make it difficult for the business to succeed. This is a better ways to manage and grow a business while carrying the employees along.
