Starting a business is a risky and challenging endeavor, and there are many potential pitfalls along the way. Here are some of the most common mistakes made when starting a business, and how to avoid them:

1. Not doing your research. Before starting a business, it’s important to do your research and understand the industry, your potential customers, and your competition. Without this knowledge, it will be difficult to make your business successful.

2. Not having a clear business plan. A clear and well-thought-out business plan is essential for any successful business. Without a plan, it will be difficult to set goals, track progress, and make informed decisions.

3. Not having enough capital. Starting a business requires a significant amount of capital, and many businesses fail because they don’t have enough money to get off the ground. Make sure you have a solid financial plan in place before starting your business.

4. Not having the right team in place. A strong team is critical for any business, so make sure you have the right people in place to help you achieve your goals. Choose people who complement your skills and who you can trust to help you build a successful business.

5. Not being prepared for the challenges. Running a business is not easy, and there will be challenges along the way. Be prepared for these challenges and have a plan in place to overcome them.

By avoiding these common mistakes, you’ll be well on your way to starting a successful business

1. Starting a business without a clear idea of the market or what you can do to take advantage of it.

2. Starting a business with too much money and not enough time to manage it properly.

3. Not setting up a good strategic plan for your business before you start getting investment from investors or running out of money from your savings.

4. Not asking for advice from experts in the field when starting your business and/or failing to understand the needs of potential customers, which means that you’re going about it all wrong from day one.

5. Failing to identify who is going to be doing what for your business, which means no proper management and no way of making sure that everything runs smoothly and effectively when things go wrong – which they do all the time.

6. Not hiring someone to help you manage daily operations of your business from day one until it's established enough to be run manually by you or another employee later on down the road (this is typically called "running lean").

Starting a business without a laid down plan is a fool's errand, because you will end up wasting your time and resources without achieving anything meaningful, I understand that a lot of people want to be involved into a business, but there are a lot of things that goes into starting one that people overlook completely and at the end of the day make bogus claims that business is hard.

Some of these reasons are:

1) Lack of good market research: no matter how good or sleek your idea is, you have to be able to measure if there is a market for what you are trying to do, this can be done by paying attention to what people are complaining about and then providing a solution for that.

2) Lack of business skills: Running a business itself needs skills, like metric measurements, analytics, business plans and other business related terms that help in keeping a business afloat
