What is Career Resilience?

Career resilience is the ability to bounce back after a career setback. It's about identifying your goals and strategies for achieving them, even when things don't go exactly as planned.

It's also about being able to adapt your goals and strategies based on new information and circumstances. If you get laid off from your job, for instance, you might need to revise your plan for paying down debt or saving for retirement.

Resilience is especially important in today's world of uncertainty. Many people have lost jobs due to economic downturns or other factors beyond their control. Even those who have managed to keep their jobs may feel uncertain about their ability to do so in the future.

The good news is that people can learn how to be more resilient in both their professional and personal lives. You can develop these skills by identifying what makes you feel confident and competent at work; learning how to ask questions without feeling embarrassed or awkward; learning how to set boundaries with co-workers who make unreasonable demands on your time or energy; learning how to give negative feedback without feeling guilty or upset; learning how to deal with stress without becoming overwhelmed by it; learning how to forgive yourself when things go wrong; learning how to things you cannot change when they come.
