. After announcement by US Attorney South District of NewYork, the Federal Buero of Investigation (FBI) has put a reward of 100k for information to apprehend fraudster Ruja Ignatova, who developed scam cryptocurrency OneCoin.
Most if the crypto.people are not aware about Ignatova, because this incident happened in early crypto period. The scam goes back to 2014 to 2017 in Bulgaria, when crypto was becoming popular, Ruja Ignatova vanished with invested money, her brother was however not lucky, and got arrested in 2019 in Los Angeles.
The onecoin scam is believed to have scammed investors of $4 Billions. Ignatova is wanted for economic crimes, and is now listed among "top ten wanted fugitives".
The reaction of crypto community about Ignatova isn't very welcoming, they are pointing at well known crypto dons like Do Kwon of Terra Luna blockchain, Alex Mashinsky of Celsius Network. Other people (outside crypto) are also in same race, they are mentioning some other fraudsters.
