Taking good eye care is about more than just getting your glasses and wearing them. Being conscious of your actions and how they effect your eyes is important.

The most important thing is to protect your eyes from damage, which can happen when you're not paying attention to what you're doing. Here are a few suggestions for maintaining eye health:

1) Avoid bringing sunglasses indoors. They block the sun's rays, which can damage your eyes over time.

2) Wear protective gear when working around machinery or heavy equipment. This protects against harmful dust and other particles that can get into your eye or cause an infection if they go too deep into the eye cavity (pupil) or eyelid (nose).

3) Don't wear makeup while you're working out or doing other strenuous activities. the chemicals in makeup could irritate or burn the delicate skin around your eyes or on the side of your head near your ear.

Exercising can help to prevent diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and this disease can lead to some eye problems so if you exercise regularly it can help to lower the risk of getting this eye problem. When you avoid smoking it reduces the risk of developing some age-related eye disease like cataracts and macular degeneration which can damage the optic nerve.

Some eye disease are hereditary so it is important to find out if anyone in your family have had them because this can determine the higher risk of developing the disease. If you're the kind of person that spend a lot of time using a computer that you forget to blink your eyes that your eyes get tired and to reduce eyestrain try to blink away for like every 20 20 minutes to avoid any eye problem.

Wearing a protective eyewear when playing sports, working in jobs like construction factory works, and doing projects or repairs at home can also reduce the risk of developing heart disease and another reason that can cause eye problem is when you get older you are at a higher risk of developing age related eye disease so going for a medical check-up is also a good idea to prevent eye problem
