How much personal information does the NDIS require?

The NDIS only asks for the personal details it needs to do its job. For instance, if someone is becoming a participant, it will only request necessary information like eligibility confirmation or plan creation. When verifying identity, the NDIS will note the document type and keep a copy. Any irrelevant information provided may not be recorded by the NDIS.

If a complete document copy is not needed, the NDIS might:
  • only write down the information they require from a document
  • just copy the pages they require from the document
  • cover up the parts of the document they don't need when making a copy
