The truth is every good thing also have it's bad sides. though partnership is very good but it's has its own downside like slow decision making which will hinder effective decision taking and making. Waiting for all partnership to agree to a decision might make the problem at hand a lot more huge. so it is better to weigh all the options and be sure you need it before going into partnership.

There is nothing that has an advantage that doesnt have a disadvantaged when we look at the advantages of partner and disadvantages of partner business i for one will say thr advantage outweighs the disadvantages, there is a saying that goes thua; two are always better than one, although the statement has been improved to mean two good heads are far better than one. There is a lot of advantage of having a partner in business, first it will enable one to make well informed and robust decisions, although the disadvantage of this particular advantage will be that decision making process will become slower and those it wi lead to slower results or output. Again partner enhances the start up capital making the business more formidable but at their might be some forms of disagreement which may lead to crisis in sharing the start uo capital that is a major set back in partner. And sometimes the death of a partner may lead to the end of the business if the living partner does not have the capacity to run the business alone.

there used to be problem with partnership when it comes to sharing of profits. Sometimes it leads to assassination.

Before I say my view on the topic, there is need for clarification especially based on the last point. The poster made mention that partnership cannot be sued because it doesn't have a separate personality, I don't totally buy that fact.

There is no business that is not sueable. If we are talking about a business that doesn't have a separate personality, it will be more of sole proprietorship where there is only one person operating the business.

This is how the law works, it can sue the business itself if the business violates consumer rights or commits other offense. While it can sue personality if the violation comes from the personality and not really the business.

Back to the topic, another disadvantage of partnership is that, there may be problem on sharing formulae as the most financial contributor may feel relaxed and not working on the same pace as others.

Disagreement is a major barrier in partnership business. At times the other partner will feel cheated due to the other one simply taking more of the profit maybe contributing more of the capital start up. Before you know, envy starts, and that's a major problem. That's why some doesn't go into partnership with strangers. It is risky though, but if you find the right partner, you'll definitely enjoy being engaged in a partnership business with your partner. Because he or she will be contributing wonderfully with you to grow the business higher with time provided you're riding together with one mind.

All forms of business have their advantages and disadvantages. Compared to a sole proprietorship, a partnership business has more access to resources through the capital contributions of several partners or through third-party liabilities. However, since a partnership is founded on mutual agreement between two or more people, it is a volatile organization that can be easily dissolved with mere disagreement or incapacity or death of one of the partners. Given the extent of liability one partner may have over the actions of another partner in a general partnership, one must give consideration to the personality and background of a potential partner before entering into a partnership. The basic rule is to form a partnership with a person you can trust and has the financial capability to start a business himself. Should the partnership suffer bankruptcy and losses, both of you can share in the payments of debts to third parties.

Well said, another disadvantage to partnership is the slow decision making. Unlike your personal business where you can simply make the decisions on your own without having to wait for others or worry about what others might say,, the reverse is the case in partnership. Every partner has to agree to the decisions made before it can be passed down and in some cases it might take days cause of the many arguments that might occur.

Partnership has both advantage and disadvantage, for the advantage everything will find it very simple and easy, there is a saying that says team work makes dreams work if you want to get what you want then you need to work in a team, but for it's disadvantage is you can be cheated if you have the wrong person.

To every decision in business to either engage in partnership or operate on a sole proprietorship, there would always be advantages and disadvantages as well. The major disadvantage in partnership is when both parties do not align or agree with the vision and mission and when this is not adding up, such business can never thrive no matter the available funding. It is pertinent that in any business venture, the both parties should always come to terms and agreement which would strengthen the bond and help the business thrive. The business of partnership demands one mindedness and complete loyalty on both parties.

I have engaged in the business of partnership and I would not recommend or suggest it for anyone who hopes to having a sustainable business. The greater reason I had engaged in partnership was due to limited funds at my perusal and this made me partner with an individual whom I believed we had shared goals but I realized I was wrong this is because I noticed that inasmuch as we both were taking the risks and challenges but when it comes to the financial aspect, there would always be shortage of more than 20% and I realized I was cheated all along.

A partnership is sure to have its own cons just like the sole proprietorship. Many people enter into a partnership due to many reasons, could be to contribute resources, most especially. The thing is that in some cases, the two partners do not carry out effective planning and as such end up going in with unforeseen disagreements.

In a partnership, disagreement is likely to occur between the parties involved, Perhaps being people of different mindsets about a certain issue. It takes two people of similar mindsets and willingness to drive a business forward. Partners tend to disagree about the basis of sharing of resources and power.

In a partnership, any wrong action taken by one party has the tendency of affecting the other party, and of course the business. Unlike the sole proprietorship where the business owner alone bears the consequences of his decisions.

In a partnership, a decision can not be taken without the involvement of both partners. This in some cases can lead to delayed decisions and results as contrary to the sole proprietorship where the business owner can easily make decisions and achieve results faster.

I have been into a partnership once, it was a problem free one actually. We made terms and stuck to it, no one defaulting.
