Blogging and eBoook writing are probably the two most profitable ways to make money for online writers.

Blogging means you create a website, publish articles, monetize with ads, do SEO and digital marketing, bring visitors on your site and then earn from ads. You can also sell products through your blog to make additional income.

eBook writing means you write ebooks and publish these ebooks on book publishing platforms like KDP or Barnes and Noble, market your ebooks and make upto 70 percent royalty on your book sales. Instead of publishing ebooks on your own name and earning from ebook sales, you can also write ebooks for other people and businesses and make money just by writing (you don’t have to sell ebooks to make money).

Between these two methods of making money, which do you think is more profitable?

Based on my own experience, I can say both are profitable, however, you will have to work harder on your book compared to your ebook. Blogging also requires you to maintain your website. You will have to deal with a lot of issues while managing a website You incur expenses to manage a website (domain and hosting charges). However, ebook writing is completely free, you can publish for free, and you can get ebook writing jobs from freelance marketplaces that are also free.

Blogging is a long-term commitment, you will have to regularly write and publish, and you will have to work regularly on your blog and do SEO and digital marketing. It takes a long time for your blog to make money. Sometimes you might not even be able to make money despite doing everything you know about blogging. However, ebook writing and publishing is not a long term commitment. YOu can just publish it, run paid ads and go back to sleep, you will start seeing sales. However, you will have to be a terrific writer to generate sales. It it works, the same ebook can make you a full time income
