Unit Linked Insurance Plan (ULIP) is a type of life insurance and is a mixture of Whole life insurance and investment products, so unit linked insurance has two advantages besides being a protection as well as functioning as an investment.

Here are five advantages of the Unit Linked Insurance Plan:

1. ULIP policyholders will not only receive protection for their lives but will also receive returns on investment, which have higher interest rates than bank deposit rates each year.

2. The ULIP product offers policyholders the ability to withdraw returns on investment for a certain period even though the policyholder is still alive.

3. The coverage period for traditional insurance only reaches the policyholder's age limit of up to 65 years or up to 75 years, while ULIP policyholders will receive protection until they reach 100 years of age.

4. Funds stored in ULIP are flexible, meaning that policyholders can add/withdraw funds in investment.

5. Another advantage of the ULIP is that it has a paid leave premium feature which is a period which is a certain period when the policyholder does not pay a premium.

However, ULIP policyholders must also know that every investment will have risks, so there is a possibility that the investment value will decrease or lose.
