Well that is true and if it is possible that you have an opportunity to study in a sane country it is possible that you may not likely to work for the company you work for previously. I believe most company is always afraid of this as you said because they believe the individual will have an opportunity to get a better employment.

I was talking from experience of a worker that his company sent him to go for further study in another country but he refused to come back just because he was paid double where he went got the course. That's why as good as this package, it may not be done by some companies

Well, it might be a good idea to take leave because you may need to concentrate on your studies. A good employer may definitely grant you leave if you have exams or if you intend to study. I have never seen anyone being denied leave except in a few cases where the employer was too strict.

Studying is a continuous process, one can never exhaust it. So just like you said, it is advisable to go for some short courses to update ones knowledge and experience. But make sure that they are courses that go in line with your work area, not just a random one.
