I have a younger one who wants to study Grography and Regional Planning. I am being made to understand that it is a social science course. I am struggling to understand the career paths available to someone that studies the course. The only thing I can think of is working as forecasters for airports and meteorological agencies. Beyond that, where can a geographer work? Which career paths are available for someone who studies the course? Are there prospects of someone being self employed in relation to the course with a degree in the course?
These are questions begging for answers. I understand that Geography is the study if the Earth. I just want to know if it is relevant to our world today. We don't want a situation where one finishes the course and is confused about what to do. Please share your opinions and thoughts about the career prospects for a graduate of Geography and Regional Planning.
