For production functions to be carried out and goals accomplished, the following resource input must be on ground.
The Product:
The end result of production management is to produce something of value to the customer. Production here talks about any item of stock or intangible thing offered to the market that has the ability of satisfying need and wants of the buyer or user. It is the duty of the production manager to ensure that products rolled out are in line with expected quality, quantity, cost, and more importantly with the marketing department is very essential because it the marketing department that is closer to the customer and knows exactly what the customer needs in terms of quality, quantity, price and even delivery terms. Plant design, installation and operation must take cognizance of the safety of people, maintenance, illumination, pollution etc.
