Increase cost of production or high cost of production is usually brought about in an economy as a result of economic instability, increase cost of production simply refers to the fact that the sacrifices that existing businesses will have to make to make sure that goods and services are ready for sale will be in an increase rate thereby making them to spend more money to have inventories for marketing. Small scale businesses have suffered a lot from increased or high cost of production and most of the times small scale businesses go bankrupt or even run out of business goods and services.

In order to survive as a small scale business owner during times of increased cost of production, possible strategies and ways to follow is by increasing the prices of your goods and services, another way to react to this economic instability is by engaging in other methods of reaching customers and clients such as online marketing and social media marketing, in this way you make more sales than your competitors.

Truly speaking high cost of production can be a big problem for majority of business that exist in small scale. Majority of small scale business are already facing environmental challenges like larger competitors and other economic instability and yet cost of production being an economic issue can totally make majority of small scale business to dissolve or go liquidated. It takes a wise and cautious business owner to manage his or her small scale business especially in times of increased cost of production. Possible ways that I will suggest a small scale business owner to react to cause a production include: increasing the cost of their product and services but not overly, and also making sure to maintain good relationship with potential suppliers so that they can get products on credits and maybe pay later, in this way they do not run out of inventories to make profits.

As a small business owner, you must be aware that ordering raw materials on a small scale often does not get discounts from suppliers, so it does not reduce the purchase price, so you can make efficiency by not immediately replacing damaged machine spare parts, but must be repaired, so you will save money. costs, renting out empty warehouse space, turning off unnecessary electricity, rearranging overtime work, will also save production costs. Raw material orders must be adjusted to needs and create safety stock, so that there is no over stock.

The best thing you could do is to cut out some processes that are not adding real value to the production process. If you have to pay someone whose job is just to count, lay the person off and let another employee double up that role. A small business also has to find alternative processes that are cheaper.

Some businesses in my country have adopted solar technology to help power their operations since the cost of fuel has become very expensive. Buy equipment that is very cost-effective even though it might seem expensive at the initial stage. Reduce your costs of packaging too to reduce costs.
