LABOUR STOPS OR SLOWS DOWN,or lasts a very long time after being strong or offer the water break. This has several possible cases:

Sometimes the midwife can turn the baby through gentle handling of the woman's belly.Try to work the baby around little by little between contractions, until the head is down. But do not use force as this could tear the womb. If the baby cannot be turned,try to get the mother to hospital.

BREECH DELIVERY (the buttocks come out first).Sometimes the midwife can tell if the baby is in the breech position by feeling the mother's belly and listening to the baby 's heartbeat.

PRESENTATION OF AN ARM (hand first). If the baby's hand comes out first,get medical help right away. An operation may be needed to get the baby out.

WHEN CORD OS WRAPPED AROUND THE BABY'S NECK so tightly he cannot come our all the way.Try to slip the loop ofcordfrom around the bbu's neck.
If you cannot do this , you may have yo clamp or tie and the cord(note: only if you are anurse or a Doctor that can do that). You can as well use boiled blunt- tipped scissors.

FECES IN THE BABY'S MOUTH AND NOSE. When the waters break, if you see they contain the baby's first black stools(meconium),the baby may be in head is out, tell the mother not to push, buy to take short, rapid breaths. Before the baby starts breathing take to suck the feces out of his nose and mouth with a suction build. Even if he starts breathing right away. Keep sucking until you get all the faces out.

I think another thing women face at the late times of pregnancy prior to child birth are complications which lead to High Blood pressure. It occurs mostly with women who are conceiving for the first time and it poses a very dangerous threat to the lives of the mother and the child.
It is a condition that is very resistant to treatment and in cases where the child is already fully developed, a quick therapy to that is an operation to remove the baby. If not fully developed, the foetus is incubated till it's fully developed.
