Political issues are always controversial, and it's important for your company to take a stand on the issues that affect the community.
If you have employees who are passionate about an issue, you can help them voice their beliefs by providing a safe space and allowing them to talk about an issue in a professional manner. The best way to do this is with an open-door policy for employees who want to discuss political issues.
If you don't want to get involved in political issues, it's fine — but don't pretend like they don't exist just because they're not affecting your business directly (for instance, if the issue is foreign policy). If you feel strongly about an issue, however, then make sure your employees feel comfortable voicing their opinions in a respectful manner.
