They should be able to define their target market and then focus on what they are offering and how they can help their customers achieve their goals.

Another common mistake that people make is that they do not have a plan for how they will reach out to potential customers, which can be very time-consuming and costly especially when you are just starting out. You need to know who your target audience is so you can find them easily and efficiently.

Another mistake people make when generating sales lead is not being consistent in their marketing efforts. You may think that you can generate a lot of sales leads in a short amount of time but if you do not follow up with them or offer them something valuable on a regular basis, then it will become difficult for them to remember how much value you provided them with in the past or why they should continue working with you at all.
