Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to build a passive income stream online just by sharing a link with your audience but you need to have a big number of audience who trust you and your affiliate links.

In my opinion having a blog will help you alot to build a big community which trust you because just by sharing links randomly you will not get anything, instead you should have a blog, create high quality content and share them with your affiliate links on your own blog, in this way it looks prestigious and people will trust the links.

What do you think about this topic? Is a blog necessary for an affiliate?

It depends from affiliate program. Some affiliate programs needs to validate visitors from where coming so ask you to add record or text file to your website where you are presenting affiliate program and then once validated they provide you code and visitors must come from the blog specified or domain specified otherwise not counted as referral or sales to reduce intencitive effect because blog owner could run a job where people first visit blog then go to make a purchase or signup.

A blog is never a bad idea for an affiliate, but it's not necessary.

Affiliates are typically (and should be) more focused on building their own audience than they are on creating content for others. This isn't to say that everyone has to start a blog to get their foot in the door, but if you're working on building an audience and don't want to spend all day writing content for other people, blogging can be a great way to do it.

A blog is also useful for an affiliate because it allows them to share content that would otherwise be too difficult or time-consuming to create: interviews with experts, step-by-step guides, tutorials anything you'd find in the form of an article. If you're looking for tips and tricks on how to build a successful business as an affiliate, then a blog could be just what you need!
