Litecoin was created in 2011 by Charlie Lee, a former Google engineer, as a "lite" version of Bitcoin. It's often referred to as the silver to Bitcoin's gold. Litecoin has faster transaction times and lower fees compared to Bitcoin, which could make it more suitable for everyday transactions. Plus, Litecoin has a higher maximum supply of 84 million coins, which may appeal to some investors who are wary of Bitcoin's limited supply.
