Our first home that my parents built was situated in a low lying area. The first occurrence of flood was up to the roof of our bungalow. I was 4 years old and I remember being carried by my uncle who rescued us. Fortunately we were able to sell that house and we moved to a higher location with no floods.
When we bought our home we made a research by asking around, not just the neighbors but the drivers of tricycles (the main transportation inside the village). Rest assured that the street where our prospect house is located will not be flooded. It was rainy season when we moved in. That year gave us the assurance that the place is free from floods. However, the main road of the village is inundated so when there is flood we cannot go out of the village for at least 5 hours.
