The truth is preparation is the key to getting things done, so if you need to be promoted to your well-deserved position then you must prepare yourself to attain it. So how do you prepare the ground for your promotion?

Provide value to your workplace

You want to first get noticed then offer solutions to your company or workplace. Let thise at the top know you are not only about yourself but for the progress of the job too

Demonstrate leadership skills

Delegate duties when the opportunity offer itself, help in coaching others, evaluating them and giving the right piece of advice when needed. This is to show you worthy.

Be smart

Promotion comes easily to those that are smart and knowledgeable. Execute your job with great abilities. Influence others to only show positive output.

Be passionate about your job

Let your job speaks volume. Let them see you handling all jobs with zeal and ease. Look professional and one that’s always in control of things. Be neatly dressed, dress appropriately and well groomed always

Avoid conflict with everyone

Be submissive but firm with everyone but most especially with your boss. Don’t be rude or cocky whn it comes to relating with your subordinates. Show that you can relate perfectly with anyone at any level of position.
 
This steps you listed above are note worthy. Infactu really nailed it very well. One must certainly needs to follow those steps in other to standout and outshine your peers at your place of work.

The truth is one might not notice it but there people observing everything we do at our place of work and the report of such people sometimes makes part of the evaluation process that will be used to consider one for a promotion or higher position.

So another thing I must include is the God factor which is the ultimate. We should have the fear of God.
 
Thanks for sharing bro, good thread as a reference to improve your career so you can occupy a higher position, I just want to add a little, the need for skill improvement either through courses, seminars, or formal education. So that we will be considered worthy to occupy a higher position.
 
Dreaming of being at the top at our working place is everybody's dream. We always want to make it big and be reckon with in our working place.

There are many things we need to do in order to attain higher position in working place. The first among them is being competent. We need to know the in and out of our work. When people know that we are good at a particular thing at our working place, there is tendency that we may be promoted.

Another thing is that we need to be loyal to our bosses at work place. We don't need to involve ourselves in something that we know that can be of bad effects to our work place. We need to make sure that all what we do is to ensure the progress of our work place.

We should always try to add value to ourselves. There is need to make sure that we add more educational qualification, skill acquisition and some other things to make sure that we are not redundant. All these add together will allow us to fit in in any position we may may find ourselves.

And.just like someone suggested, there must be preparation for any role we may be given at our working place. When the management sees our readiness to take up every role, they may promote us.
