How can NDIS participants prepare for employment?

A planning meeting, involving you, your LAC or NDIA planner, and, if desired, your nominated family member or carer, will take place to discuss and reassess your plan. This meeting allows you to discuss your work goals, address employment barriers, and explore reasons for past difficulties in finding work with your LAC or NDIA planner.

Here are the questions that may be asked:
  • If you haven’t thought about getting a job, can you tell us why?
  • Do you have any specific work skills, qualifications or work experience?
  • Have you done any courses?
  • What level of education have you completed?
  • Do you look after your own money?
If your disability requires a support worker in your workplace, discuss it with your Local Area Coordinator or Support Coordinator, as NDIS plan funds may be available to assist you.

To prepare for your planning conversation, you can utilize the ‘Let’s talk about work’ booklet.

Should you require support with your NDIS plan, feel free to contact us at 1800 998 994 or visit https://lifebalancendisplanmanagement.com.au/.
