Employment applications are your first impression to prospective employers. Adhering to the right etiquette and giving out adequate detail will make your form stand out.

1. Have all the information required ready beforehand. A list of what should be included are; prior employment, educational background, references, contact details, social security number.

2. Read the instructions carefully. Decide how the form should be completed i.e. by hand or digitally.Follow all directions provided.

3. Use black or blue pen if the form must be completed manually. Ensure that your answers are clearly legible and neat. Steer clear of stricken responses or pressed answers.

4. Completing all the mandatory fields is a must. Give details of employment, education, skills, and references as directed. No blank spaces, please.

5. Adapt your answers to the job. Match your summarized work experience and skills to the qualifications the employer is looking for the position.

6. Ignore irrevelent personal informations such as age, race, religion. Employers are prohibited from discriminating on bases of protected class information.

7. Quantify from past career your accomplishments. Show numeric values and metrics to highlight what you achieved in past roles.

8. Proofread carefully before submitting. Run-through everything to make sure your information is comprehensive. Make sure all fields are filled in.
