Decluttering paperwork can be a daunting task. You might be worried that you're not going to be able to get it done, or that it's too much of a hassle. But we know that decluttering is worth the effort--it will help you focus on what matters most, and it'll make your life easier in the long run.

Here are four steps to decluttering financial documents:

1) Sort the documents by category (e.g., bills, tax returns).

2) Put all of the paperwork in one place where it can be easily accessed (e.g., a filing cabinet or desk drawer).

3) Make sure each piece of paper has a home at least once per month. this helps keep things organized and prevents clutter from building up unnecessarily (and also helps prevent theft!).

4) If possible, put some kind of label on each piece so that it can be easily identified later on down the road when you need it.
