Many people enjoy gossiping, and every company has a group of people who enjoy spouting nonsense. While they may not have malicious intent, it can be detrimental to the business. When it becomes unstoppable, it can turn into deception and ruin someone's character or reputation. This is why it is critical for every company to address this issue. It could be in the form of a notice or a suspension. Here are some suggestions for dealing with gossiping coworkers.

Keep yourself busy: Try to keep yourself as busy as possible. People who like to gossip should be avoided. Maintain your focus on the task at hand and refrain from participating. Do not imply that you want to take part in the conversation.

Say something good: If a coworker is attacking another employee at the office, say something positive about the victim. By doing so, you can prevent your coworker from saying more negative things about the other person.

Report: There are gossips who cause distress. If this occurs, report the gossiper to your superior, especially if you have already confronted him/her with the fact that the gossip is making you uncomfortable. Allow your superior to handle the situation and take action.

Gossip can cause a toxic culture to any workplace. So, avoid it at all costs.
