When you're at work, it's easy to feel like your voice isn't being heard. But that's not true.

Here are a few tips for making sure that your voice is heard:

1. Make sure you're speaking up - It can be hard to know when exactly to speak up, but there are some signs that should give you a sense of whether or not it's time to address something: if other people aren't speaking up, if the subject matter is uncomfortable or off-limits, or if the conversation is going on in the wrong direction.

2. Ask questions - When someone says something that really resonates with you, don't hesitate to ask them why they feel that way—it'll help them see things from your perspective!

3. Be careful about how much you say - You don't want to interrupt someone by constantly talking and distracting them from their work—but at the same time, if you keep your comments brief and simple, they'll have more opportunity to hear what else you have to say.

4. Stay positive - Remember that everyone around you has feelings too! Try not to take things personally when others make negative comments about themselves or their colleagues.

I believe the best way to make sure your opinions and ideas are heard and valued in your workplace is to be a highly valuable staff yourself. When you are highly valuable as an employee, your organization doesn't joke with your perspectives on issues. Be result oriented. Also, every employee always brings out realistic and innovative solutions when issues arise would always be listened to. When your solutions are plain dumb, no one would care about what you have to say.

Another thing is that you have to be assertive in the workplace to be heard. People and employers inclusive tend to value assertive people. If you are a yes-sir kind of person, your employer won't regard you and your opinions. People regard those that are vocal and assertive. By being vocal, I don't mean you should be challenging and insulting people. I mean people that have a level of control over what they want to do.

To be heard you must stay relevant. One of the things that makes your opinions valued and regarded is the level of their relevance. Imagine being a manager and there is this particular worker who is always contributing irrelevant stuffs. Of course you wouldn't give much attention to such and his advises and contributions may never be valued.

So first and foremost, you must stay relevant and make sure that all you contribute are very important and valuable things that have the potential of yielding positive results. They must make sense and also be feasible.

Another thing that helps you to get heard is reservedness. This is different from becoming dumb. To be reserved means that you do not just open up and talk your mind at all times but be strategic about how you make your contributions. People who talk a lot are not really regarded but as someone who talks at the moment that is necessary you will gain much attention.
