In some regions of the world the act of corruption and nepotism are in high rate and have caused drastic and poor negative effect towards the economy especially in areas of business activities . In most African countries to be precise in Nigeria where I am from , corruption and nepotism is in high rate and instead of the government to focus on the citizens who elected them into the prestigious seats the enjoy today they are busy taking governmental funds and money meant for the people to fend for themselves and their families .
By definition corruption refers to the abuse of governmental powers by government officials elected by the people for personal private illegitimate gain they do this by performing activities like bribery , exportation , embezzlement , and soliciting of governmental funds .
On the other hand nepotism , is referred to the activity that occurs when someone without qualification and sent a higher state of authority without acquiring the requisite authority to do so . so the question is how does nepotism and corruption affect business concern ?
Due to corruption and nepotism government have deviated from the well-being of the people there by causing them not to provide social and local amenities that could aid the activity of buying and selling some of the activities they failed to provide include : good roads for the transportation of finished goods and raw materials , they also go to the extent of increasing taxation fee forsmall-scale and large-scale businesses which obstruct the activity of production , corruption and nepotism has prevented the government from providing networks in under-developed areas thereby , preventing the act of good communication among buyers and sellers .
