Transportation is one of the most important aid to trade , in all angles if considered trade and act of buying and selling won't be made possible if transportation isn't applied . Yet in some regions of the world there are some factors obstructing or hindering full effects of transportation activities thereby leading to poor economic development and growth .

Political instability caused by government disagreements has bad effect on provision of social and economic amenities which include transportation . As a result of poor political stability there is no governmental support for the act of trade thereby discouraging effective buying and selling of goods and services . Good road systems are not establish any more making it hard for goods and services to be transported from the manufacturer to the wholesaler before reaching the final consumers or customers .

Another factor that hinders transportation activities in most region of the world is high rate of transport taxation. Due to the high taxation rate of transportation of raw materials and finished goods to various locations where they are needed prices of goods and services are being influenced or effected . It also lead to goods seizure if the owner of the carriage Transit refuse to pay the tax . Thereby obstructing the free flow of goods and services to and fro .

Am really excited to comment on this, as without transportation is not possible for us to live on this Earth. Transportation is very necessary in our day to day activities. As far as you live, you most engage in one way or the other of transportation be it financial transportation, health transportation, business transportation etc.
When we talk about transportation we are referring to movement of goods and services from one location to another either by land, water or air. As necessary as it is they is some factor that hinder transportation which some among them are:
• bad road: most especially in Nigeria bad transportation road hinders the movement of goods and services as it's make movement difficult.
• high cost of fuel: as fuel serves as the major thing use in transportation. People find it difficult to purchase fuel which they use it in transporting their goods to the market.
• insecurity: this is also one of the factors that hinder transportation, as the fear of thief's on the road stop people from transporting their goods to some parts of the country. They prefer to sale them at cheaper price than taking them to a risky area. This factor have been found to affect the movement of goods round the country.

Hmmm, there are indeed so many reasons why transportation business in Nigeria is not doing so well, Nigeria is has the highest number of black people in the world and has the highest population in Africa. Nigeria has a population of over 200 million people. You can tell that a nation this large will certainly be giant in so many ramifications. With a population of this size in Africa, and in an underdeveloped or should I say a developing state. it is certain that there will be some form of challenge when it comes to transportation the reality for now is that we have an in sufficient means of transportation system in Nigeria at this time. Reasoning been that the government has not been able to finish up many of the road plans. And the existing ones are not in a motorable sjtuation, leading to lost of lives and property. Many of our roads are truly death trap and people do not even know what to do anymore as they are even tired of crying to the government who does not seem to care of the state of the nation. Another issue is the insecurity, and attacks been carried out on our roads.

As the matter of fact, ones a country is having poor road construction, it lessened the activity of the country most especially ,business activities. Here I will briefly point out the main point which are:
1. Fuel costs. The cost of maritime and land transport is, of course, related to the price of fuel
2. The labor market for commercial drivers.
3. Demand for freight.
4. Customer loyalty.
5. Vehicle capacity.
6. Government regulation
7. Geopolitical events
8 Your reputation as a merchant.

One of the major responsible for this for poor transportation system is corruption and insincerity on the part of the government, they have been reluctant in doing what is right for so many years. They come in every election year and promise to fix the country and when they get into office it becomes a different story altogether. Just like in my community we heard thry have even commission the road on papers and the reality is far from what they claimed to have done on that road. My community is strategically located and it also provides raw materials for industrial use and even domestic use but there are no good accessible roads where goods and services can pass through to other parts of the country.

The prices of rice in my country has really skyrocketed and there are places in my country where they focus on rice farm, but the problem has always been that there are no go access point to those places making it difficult for the farm produce to go round the nation. Hence the high prices of goods and services. This also applies to other areas aswel. So government should end corrupt practices and do the right things.
