I know of people who make money through other means like Wattpad, KDP, ghostwriting and even self publishing or ebooks, but blogging still remans the best way to make money as a writer.

You choose the topic to write on, you get no deadlines and you have fun ownership of the work you do. Most bloggers who create successful blogs make way more money than when they are writing in other ways. It has its disadvantages, but it's worth it if you get it right.

You actually do not need a blog to make money as a writer because there are several opportunities on the internet. It actually depends on what interests you and where you want to make some good amount of money for yourself.

As a writer you can venture into freelancing and make a lot of money for yourself because there are several people who are looking for freelance writers and you can capitalise on that opportunity to make a lot of money for yourself online.

You can also write and publish books on Amazon Kindle and other platforms and also make a lot of money for yourself online. The good thing about this is that it has the ability to create passive income for you to consistently make money for yourself on the internet.

You can also write for websites like the listverse and a few others and make a lot of money for yourself if your articles get accepted.

There are so many ways to earn as a writer. You have mentioned very good ones like freelance writing, writing and selling ebooks/books. You can also become an article writer for a website or someone else's blog as a ghostwriter. The opportunities for writers are so many out there, you just need to explore.

Blogging seems to be the base for all this writing opportunities. When you have a blog, you get to enjoy some benefits such as;

  • You get a place to practice what you learn about writing.
  • You get a platform to showcase your skills and use it as reference whenever you are applying for new jobs and the employer wants proof of your skills.
  • You can earn from your blog by monetizing it. Either using it to promote your own products and services or becoming an affiliate for others.
That being said, a writer needs to have a blog. It is like having a store for your offline business. The blog will be a place where you exhibit your services so that your clients and customers can order.

I know blogging is a skill in itself that also wants you to have other skills like graphic design, web design and marketing. The good thing is that you have a chance to learn all that.

No, you do not necessarily need a blog to get paid as a writer. There are many ways to earn money as a writer, such as freelance writing, content writing, technical writing, copywriting, and more. Some writers also earn money by writing and selling books, e-books, and courses. Having a blog can be a useful platform for promoting your writing and showcasing your skills, but it is not a requirement to get paid as a writer.

Having a blog can be a valuable tool for establishing yourself as a writer and building your online presence, but it is not a requirement to make a living as a writer. Freelance writing and content writing are common paths to earning money as a writer, and many writers are able to secure clients and projects without having a personal blog. However, having a blog can be beneficial for building your brand and reaching a wider audience.

Additionally, blogging can provide you with opportunities to demonstrate your writing skills, share your thoughts and opinions on relevant topics, and establish yourself as a thought leader in your field. Ultimately, the decision of whether to have a blog as a writer is a personal one and will depend on your individual goals and needs.

If you have been trying to make money online long enough then you already know that you don't NEED a blog to get paid as a writer. My friend advertises on Fiverr for her writing jobs. My other friend built her own website, listed her credentials and certifications, and advertises as a "Writer for Hire". You can earn money via an article writing site that pays per article or uses the PPV (PayPer View) model; you get paid a certain amount for a certain number of unique views. (I hated the PPV sites! LOL.) What a blog does is show people that you can write. So in a sense, it's a form of advertising. You don't need a blog. But it can't hurt to have a blog especially, a monetized blog.

Blog could be entertainement for coding if the blog is showing some level of seriousness, not just going throught other websites and copy and paste. This will be a failed blog. Topic starter even getting informations from other persons must label them in reference and not copy paste but just read and try to understand and make a little redaction and then publish the article in own words then refer the references. Then if you are doing this, you improve your chances for good quality writing on writing platforms.

I think blog is very necessary if you want to earn as a writer, especially though online writing. Well, you can earn as a writer through freelancing platforms, but how will you be trusted as a new seller when you do not have anything to show. If you have a blog you can divert your potential clients to check the kind of writing you do. You can also make money as an ebook writer, however, in order to sell ebooks your buyers must be impressed with your writing. If you are new how can that happen. If you have a blog you can tell your potential buyers about your writing.
