Do Location really play major role in the success of a business?

Location should be one of the factors that comes to mind when considering start up a business, one must consider the location and how easy it will be for the target customers to access the business center. Infant if one is not strategically located one may lose his customers and this will affect the sales volume and overall output of the business.

People most times consider location as a major factor that determines the success rate of a business while this is the case for many there are still some people who believe that location doesn't really matter much. They believe one can site a business anywhere and if the goods are essential the customers will find their way to your business center irrespective of the location.

To that class of people they believe they can get marketers who can promote the business for them by going to meet the customers where ever they are.

For me I believe it is the most important thing to consider when starting a business especially if the business is a startup, the more closer you are to your customers the more likely you are to making sales or else you will have to do alot of advertisement, and if you are into sales of commodity, you will have to adopt the home delivery method.

For a business that needs the customer's visit like a salon, yes, the location is very important. When the salon is situated in a secluded village that is scary to go to then more likely the customers will be turned off. Even in retailing business like a small convenience store the location is a very important factor.
