In the process of performing their roles and responsibilities some employees might actually behave unethically. Unethical behavior in a workplace simply refers to behaviors and attitude that does not constitute or add to a good business environment and can negatively influence other employees who are performing their day-to-day roles and responsibilities.

Some of the Major on ethical behaviors among employees include sexual harassment, lateness, discrimination, favoritism and bias. Major causes of these could be as a result of the business organization not having a policy against these negative behaviors. It could also be because the managers of the organization are not actually concern about the emotional welfare of the employees. It could also be because managers have ignore earlier reports on the issue by employees and so because of these negative and unethical behaviors keeps striving in the business organization.

Unethical behaviors by employees have different spectrums and angles that cause it. For some businesses, unethical behavior could be a result of weak management. A management that cannot put its feet firmly on the ground to enforce ethical behaviors would always see staff behaving the way they like. And management must make sure that they too are in their best behaviour to be able to enforce ethics.

Another factor that can cause unethical behavior in a business organization is favoritism. When one staff is favored above another, that staff would start to be complacent and it would spread.
