General insurance Can one insure car under property insurance

If we take a good look at it. Property is simply defined as a thing that is rightfully owned by the owner, and if we will be fair, a car can also be classified as a property as long as the owner did not steal it and has all it required to say he or she owns it.

Property insurance was created and meant to create some kind of coverage and assurance for the owner of it. Although, I understand to some certain level what auto insurance does specifically but why can’t it be done under property insurance because to me I feel like I’m starting to mix it up and this is a question I have been trying to ask myself

Car is a property and there is nothing stopping one from insuring car under it. Each insurance policy has its own jurisdiction. At times some people use a general name when they mean a specific insurance policy. For instance, under property insurance policy, there can be house, car and other property

I think property insurance and car insurance is quite different and of course it is clearly stated. There are different companies that oversees some of this insurance. There are companies that specialise on motor vehicle insurance and then don't specialises in any other kind of insurance whether they are your property or not.

You are very right. It is not uncommon to see people classifying cars under auto insurance policy. And house under may be building policy and the likes. But generally, car, animals and even buildings may fall under property insurance depending on the insurance company policies. But all the same, car can be insured under either auto or property insurance.

Yeah you could insure your car under property insurance policy ,I think there is a coverage for it , you could choose to insure it against fire , flood and others , since you would actually not want to cover any unexpected circumstances and expenses that might likely occur to what you are insuring against

If I understand you clearly from what you posted up there, I do not think there is any issue stopping someone from insuring car under property insurance, the thing is just the functionality of the policies could be quite different from each other because they are both odd in the way they work

I guess, one can one insure his car under property insurance. But why do that when they have been provided to us seperately with more better functions. Car might come under personal property, and property insurance helps cover stuffs like your home or even your car. They are kind of similar, still it's good if one insures his car to a reputed car insurance company only.
