I notice this days that whenever I wanted to eat any thing sweet people will be telling me that its not good for my body system.
But learnt that; they use to say that its good for children to be eating egg for example and that the elderly should not be taking too much of it because of age.
And again if some body is eating something that is bitter they will still say that too much of it can cause low BP then ;

How can we justify this? And at what age should one stop eating sweet things?

I know you're talking about sugary substances, if so, then it isn't warrant enough in -take. You can take some and don't consume excessively, remember almost everything we consume in our body system contains some sugary substances. That's why it isn't advisable to soak ourselves into taking lots of sugars in our body system. Eben most alcoholic drinks we consume contains sugar too, food we eat have some sugar contains too. In order to limit the sugars we take in, we need to reduce it's consumption through food that contains it.

There is actually no medical age as to when one should start eating sweet things. Sweet things in general is not good, too much of it could cost lots of damage to the body, in most cases you might not feel the effect now, but it would be when you have aged, that's when you would definitely feel it

The age at which you should stop eating sweet things is not yet known. However, it has been shown that older people are more susceptible to the harmful effects of sugar than younger people.

A number of studies have shown that older people who regularly eat sugary foods and drinks have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes than those who do not eat them. They also tend to have higher blood pressure.

Other research shows that older people who regularly consume sugar-sweetened beverages have a higher risk of developing Alzheimer's disease than those who do not drink them. In addition, they tend to experience memory problems more often than those who do drink them.

Finally, some studies suggest that older adults who regularly consume sugary foods and drinks may be more likely to develop dementia than those who do not consume these products.

There is no age at which an individual must stop eating sweet things, but the evidence suggests that it would be wise for older people to avoid consuming too much sugar on a regular basis.

It is natural and normal for human beings to crave the eating of sweet things . And some of this sweet things could include products such as sweet , candy , icing cakes , fruit juice , icing biscuits etc . It is ok to eat sweet things but the problem is that overeating of this sweetened products has a negative effects on our bodies from time to time . There is no specific age that an individual should stop eating sweetened products . Rather it is important we cut down the amount of sweetened product we consume so as not to affect our health in the future . Parents and guardians usually feel less concerned about the things their children eat . Research and studies I have shown that children who have the behaviour of consuming too much sweetened products during the age of five and six have the potential or the possibility to develop health related issues like : eye problems , diabetes , high blood pressure , kidney failure , liver failure etc when they turn the age of 40 to 60 .

So with this analysis in mind , it is wise to be concerned about the kind of things we eat it is also wise for us to be concerned about the kind of product our children eat . And just as it is always said that " the way you dress your bed determines how you will lie and wake up " same is applied to nutrition " the things we eat or consume determines our better our health well-being tomorrow or the following years to come will be .

I do not think there is any scientific backup that says that people have to limit how much they consume Sweet food .

It is part of our everyday meals and food and there is no way you can completely avoid them at all.

I believe that you can try as much as possible to see how you will limit the way you consume them only, but do not think about completely stopping to eat them .

There are so many instances where I will get to see a lot of people who are old fall sick and their been diagnosed for diseases like diabetes , which is often said to be related with high sugar content in the blood.

With such scientific Discovery, I think that it is important for old people to limit the way they consumed sweet food so that it will not predispose them into the group of people who will be vulnerable to diseases like diabetes mellitus .

When you get old also, you have to focus only more on food that will add nutrients your body like vegetables and a lot of fruits that you know will not predispose your body to illnesses and diseases.

Thanks for this advise because I have also thought of it that ; why is it that even sometime when an elderly somebody fell sick the doctor sometimes tell them that they have low sugar and needed to boost it up .
One just need to make it moderate .

Everything indeed should be done decently and orderly, no one of any age group either young or old should eat too sweet or too bitter, too much of everything is bad. I went to the hospital for a check up and we were informed in a little seminar that elderly people shouldn't completely avoid sugary beverages or food, you take a little at a time if you have diabetes, avoid it but keep alittle in your bag to avoid a sudden low sugar level; it kills instantly, you just have to keep like two cubes of sugar or a bottle of coca cola at your disposal, so when you feel dizzy you can just take it in less we we get more news about someone falling to death. Nevertheless young people shouldn't take in too much sugar but make things balanced by taking in both sugar and herbs.

It's rare seeing one with low sugar level, I've always seem high sugar levels in elderlies. Not that I'm saying it doesn't occur to elderlies, it depends on the nature of the individual. I've heard about one who is lacking normal sugar level, and the doctor advised the patient to eat more of the sugars within some duration of time to build up his sugar level high to become moderate. If your sugar level is low, you'll face issues same goes to when it is high too. The life we are living have always been surrounded with risks.

You are right moderacy is the best solution to it. Some times if it is too much then there will be problem and if it is too low there is problem again . Therefore one need to make it moderate and not excess. At least 90% of humanbeings always like sweet things like sugar and we can not but just accept that.

Life and it matters, every thing a person do under this sun people will still talk about it. For maybe is because of highly cholesterol in the egg that they say elderly person should not take it but for me I don't see anything wrong with it or maybe because I'm not a doctor. Hahaha at times I sound funny.

Talking about the eggs, it is true we shouldn't really eat so much eggs especially if we are above the age of 40.

Even if we are to take , it shouldn't just be as when you were a child because taking it at this stage might be dangerous and can expose you to so many dangerous side effects. some side effects may even lead to dead or a serious permanent loss in body function if property is not taken.

Medically we are always advised to avoid egg when we are above the age of 40 because it can lead to increase in blood pressure and sometimes it might even lead to stroke which might result in Brain dead and death.

Concerning the sugary food , we are always advised to avoid it as much as possible , not really when you are old but if you are above age of 40 because it may not really be good at that stage. surgary food has two main dangerous side effects.

* It can lead to gum related disease and infection and may even result in permanent loss of teeth.

* It can increase the risk of having high content of sugar in the bloodstream thereby increasing the risk of diabetes in older people.

There is no specific age that stops eating of sweet things a s human beings always crave for them though sweet things are bad for health but that is when thru get too much in our system and it starts giving effects like diabetes which is the situation of urinating sweet urine.

The normal recommendation is yo stop giving young children sweet things as their body may nit contain the sugar but there are some people whwo still have the ability to contain alot of sugar in their system without them getting I'll so eating sugar varies from age to body or system functions which are different.

Your post is correct and is better we take it serious. Eating certain types of food at our old age is dangerous especially when it comes to red meat. Doctors and specialists always advice that we should not take in red meat or too much of it at our old age because it can lead us to dangerous ailments such as stroke and other bad related diseases.

For eggs are good at out infants stage and they help children to grow well but on some continent that I know, because of poverty and other things, instead of the parents to give their little children plenty of eggs and meat they themselves will eat plenty of meat and eggs giving the children small portion. This sounds funny but true.

One thing about egg is it contains much cholesterol which is not good for adults but good for children to grow well. This is the reason that is advisable not to wage much eggs when we are old.

I don't see anything wrong with sweets. We are used to demonizing foods. One day the butter is unhealthy, the next day it's healthy. I think you can do everything in moderation.

Man, It's crazy. I think it's just misinformation from our part, most people dishing out medical advise are not professional and they're just saying it because they heard someone saying it.

I think it's just fear mongering because there are a lot of people that take sugar and they're still fine, what you should put into consideration is moderation and also make sure you're checking in with a doctor or you can buy a devise that you can be using to measure your levels.

Most of our foods contain sugar and a lot of it, if you take rice for example it contains sugar in form of starch, it's very hard to escape sugar in a contemporary African setting so the best thing you can do is to just be moderate and supplement your food with veggies and other non sugary supplement.

Eating sugary foods is really tempting, it's hard to resist a good looking cake or a cold soda drink but then if you look at their label you will see that they contain a lot of sugar and people don't even care at all.

Or maybe you can consult a nutritionist to work out a food time table for you, you can get that for free at any teaching hospital.

In today’s world, the love for sweets is growing. It is not only a favorite food for children but also for adults as well. Sweet things are considered as an essential part of our daily lives by many people and they cannot imagine their lives without chocolates and candies.

The question arises that at what age one should stop eating sweet things? You should stop or limit it very well in your forties! Is it possible to give up the sweet tooth once and for all? The answer is yes! You can definitely quit eating sweet things if you want to do so. But there are some points that you need to keep in mind when you decide to cut down on sugary foods and drinks:

1) If you want to get rid of your sweet tooth permanently then you must be ready to make a lot of sacrifices. In order to kick off this bad habit, one must be ready to sacrifice time, money and energy in order to achieve success in this regard.

2) You must be determined enough and strong enough so that you can overcome the temptations associated with sugar intake such as mood swings, cravings etc..

3) You must be mindful about what kind of food items contain added sugar like cereals, breads, cookies etc..
