As a new manager, you may feel like you're in over your head. But don't worry. Here's how to be active and keep your job:

1. Create a schedule for yourself and stick to it. Make sure that you've got time set aside each day to plan and prepare for the workday ahead, as well as time set aside for reflection on your performance and any challenges that arose. You'll need to be able to do this every day so that you can take care of both long-term planning and short-term problem solving.

2. Be clear about what your employees should be doing and why they should be doing it. This will help them feel more comfortable with their jobs and less likely to question or challenge what they're being asked to do by management more importantly, it will also help them do their jobs well.

3. Take charge of meetings with other departments by leading them yourself instead of delegating leadership responsibilities to someone else in your department (unless you're explicitly told otherwise). This will help your team feel like they have someone who supports them at all times rather than just when there are problems occurring within their own department's boundaries; it will also show how much confidence.
