CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadéra has invoked the ire of World Bank against digital development of CAR.
On May 24, President Touadéra announced a plan to launch the country’s first crypto initiative legal hub called “Sango.” This hub creates a tax free environment for businesses and economy. World Bank isn't Happy with the decision.
The World Bank has rejected it's earlier approved $35 million development fund for the digitization of the public sector on the issue of country using it for Sango project.
Already CAR has drawn ire of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), for imaking Bitcoin as legal tender; now World Bank has voiced concerns regarding the same.
El Salvador was also helpless when it first adopted Bitcoin, President Touadéra have to think like Nayib Bukele.
Sango project is to develope Bitcoin adoption of CAR that will make the country a crypto tax heaven. With no help from banks, CAR have to go ahead just like El Salvador.
