Numerous Nigerian representatives endeavor to play out their best in the work environment. They stay at work longer than required, consent to take on additional tasks and seldom remove a stage from their work area. In all actuality, this "really buckle down" attitude isn't powerful - and it's certainly undesirable. Representatives who accept that they should work day in and day out to accomplish a decent remaining in the working environment have some unacceptable thought. Furthermore sadly, workers regularly gain this thought through bosses' perspectives.
Tying yourself to a work area or scarfing down your lunch in your work area isn't a formula for progress - it's a catastrophe waiting to happen. Without enjoying satisfactory reprieves from work, worker efficiency, mental prosperity and in general work execution start to endure. Exhausted employees often manage ongoing pressure that can undoubtedly prompt occupation burnout. While this not just adversely influences representative wellbeing and prosperity, it contrarily influences the primary concern, as well. Therefore businesses should begin empowering representatives to enjoy reprieves all through the typical working day - particularly mid-day breaks. These breaks are fundamental in aiding representatives de-stress and once again charge for the remainder normal business day. Customary breaks can likewise assist with further developing in general work fulfillment.

I fully agree with you. Break day is a must, at least once a week should be off from work. And other than that, one needs to have some breaks in between the work too. That helps to rejuvenate and refresh and has a good effect on the productivity of the employees too.. Overworking might show some positive outcomes in the beginning but is not a sustainable way in long run. And it's going to show negative effects very soon and can be a disaster in long run for both the business and the workers. Elastic can be stretched to an extent and beyond that it breaks. Same holds true with the human potential to work. Any organization has a moral responsibility about the well being of the workers. Overwork is a disaster recipe for all health issues be ut physical, emotional, and mental. And sick workers are not an asset to any workplace.

Yes everyone needs some time to rest at some point in time or the other. It is very essential for us to find time to relax from the stress of work and even take a vacation with the family to a place good enough to be free from stress. Stress as we know kills ever faster than some know ailments. And funny enough most of the sicknesses we complaint about are basically caused by stress.

So we save some money we would have spent medical trips when we decide to use our breaks to rest and take care of oursleves so these short break will do an employee a lot good because they will also have time to spend with their family and friends and also visit places they have always wanted to visit but unable to visit as a result of work. Then it will also provide them time to think out of out the box and think inwards of what they can do when they retire from work. They will begin to plan on how to start their own personal business.

It will give them time to resolve all other issues they must have left pending or it may help them to learn a trade or start a course.

In our Christian religion we respect the so called Sabbath which is the 7th day. That means rest for the workers. In the Bible it was said that working on the Sabbath during those ancient days is not legal and one can be jailed. I think there is sense in the rest day because the body and the mind need a respite especially if the job is stressful. You would see the workers during the last day of work in the week (be it a Friday or Saturday) and they are ebullient and looking forward to the rest day that they can spend with the family. Now the Sunday here is called Family Day which means you cannot disturb the person because that day is dedicated for the family. For me, the rest day is also important not really for spending it with the family or friends but for the rest of my mind.
