I understand that things can happen that will trigger a business to relocate its office/ operational base to a different location. I think every business should strive to maintain the office/ operational base it has used to gain roots and establish itself. Relocating a business hurts it in so many different ways.
When you move a business from one location to another, you have cut off loyal customers from easy access to the business. Some of these customers might not even be able to patronize the business any longer because of distance. This can lead to a loss of revenue for the business.
Also, when you relocate a business, you go to start all over again in a new location. It might take time before people in that location know and trust you. I have seen businesses that relocated and struggled for a long time before finding their feet again. As much as possible, try to maintain the address of your business.
