Why employers are not rely on school certificates?

Employers are in the position to employ very brilliant and talented graduates, and non-graduates that has good certificates, into their companies or businesses. Unfortunately nowadays most of the graduates that pretend to have a good certificates can not defend their certificate. Most of the people are not expected to be a graduates, because of the low memory retention of their brain, that can not allow them to attend universities and higher institutions. Most of them are to learn works and have their certificate to defend, at the end of the learning. To my surprise nowadays everybody want to go to higher institutions because of their friends and their relatives that get admitted into higher institutions, at the end of the day, they can not defend their certificate. This makes the companies to employ non talented and unskilled employee to work with them in their company. This make most of the companies to fold up, when they can not meet up with the market demand and produce qualities and standard products for the people.

Most companies are truly not depending on educational certificates anymore when hiring new employees. It is very true that most graduates cannot defend their certificates. They have the papers but don't have the skills required in the workplace.

Employers these days want skills that will enable their companies to be productive. Of which most graduates cannot provide such productivity. Some people who never attended high institutions have learnt those skills on their own and can showcase. So employers decide to hire them instead.

To some extent, it is not entirely the graduate's fault for not having those skills. This is because most tertiary institutions don't teach practical skills. Many of the focus on the theoretical knowledge more. Hence the graduates find it hard to use their knowledge in the ideal workplace.

Most employers do not rely on certificate to employ workers because there are alot of half baked graduates roaming around looking for jobs without being able to defend their results. Back then during my service year, does of us who studied outside Nigeria in other Africa countries where asked to travel to the national headquarters of the Nigerian Youth Service Corp to defend our school certificates before we would be given our certificate of service.

We really can not take out the relevance of the paper certification because that is one of the easiest ways of proving not only to your employers but to anyone who cares to know that you have been able to complete your education in a higher institution of learning or in any other vocational study or training one might have undergone. That said, the certification only does not prove the everything as one will have to still go through the official process of screening in the recruitment stage. The only advantage the certification may present most times is helping you in gaining access to the entrance of those business organisations but what keeps you inside the organization is the level of ones intelligence quotient.

Gone are the days when people and most organizations truly worship the papercertification and whenever a candidate presents a very good result the organization automatically offers such a candidate the good. Today things has truly change as organizations are becoming more aware that more of those paper certification can be bought and many of those good result were actually gotten on the ground of compromise. Hence everyone will pass through the same rigorous recruitment process to ascertain the best candidate.
