There are series of ways you can earn extra money from home. One popular way is to start your own business or sell something you already make. Another option if you want to be more hands-off is to invest in someone else’s small business and let them handle the work while you get a share of the revenue, which can be as easy as opening an online brokerage account. Another way is to pick up a part-time job. The key is to find a way that works for you, your skills and interests and will bring in the money you are looking for.
If you’d like ideas for where to get started, here are some options:
Sell something on Etsy: You can open a shop on Etsy.com, an online marketplace where people sell handmade or vintage items, art, or prints. If you’re crafty, pick up a new hobby or learn how to make cool things (or find someone who already makes them) and sell your items on Etsy as a hobby business. Or if you have a knack for writing and know how to write a compelling blog post, start a blog and sell your writing on Etsy as well. You can also sell your crafts on eBay, where you can set your own prices.
Sell something online: Set up an online store on Shopify or Etsy, or on Amazon. And you don’t need to be an expert in the craft in order to sell. For example, it took some time and research before I found a niche that was ideal for me: selling sewing patterns (pre-made garment patterns) through my etsy store.
Whichever route you choose, remember that all these choices require some sort of financial investment up front. There are no get-rich-quick schemes out there, so plan accordingly and research thoroughly before diving in! If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
