Water exclusion is an exclusion clauses associated with homeowners and renter insurance contracts. The clause is limited to homeowners and renter's insurance policies and remove coverage for some water-related claims.

They are situations that will fall under this water exclusion clause such as damage caused by drain or sewage standing water,, flood, tsunamis, groundwater, and backups.

So a water exclusion clause can be said to be a common feature of homeowners insurance contracts, resisting coverage for different categories of loss that has to do with aquatic events.


A standard insurance company will always list out it water exclusion clauses restrictions to an insured to get them openly informed. This is because different insurance provider cater differently to the clients but the basic ones are water main failure, floods due to external causes; tsunamis; groundwater.etc


You should know that Homeowners policies do cover against water damage that resulted from any immediate misfortune inside the home. They include water problems like like overflowing toilet.or burst of pipe . So it is a separate flood insurance that gives a coverage against flooding.
