There have been a lot of talk in the past about how important it is for you to be able to connect properly with your email list and make them to feel at home . In as much as this is to at the end of the day that is not what you are looking for because that is not what is going to put food on your table and that is absolutely fine . Monetizing an email list is very complicated because it is completely different from social media or web site monetization channels .

1. Sponsored post . This is definitely one of the most easiest way of monetizing an email list. Let us say that you are running an email list where you are going to be teaching people how to improve their writing skills . You can reach out to companies who are selling tools that can be able to help them and then make sponsored post for them while you charge them for . It is important that you should not make it obvious that you are trying to get money off them but you can always make do with a passionate appeal .

2. Premium content . If you have proven to your audience about how good you can be in your teaching aspect then it is time for you to introduce them to your premium content where you are going to offer them much more value than they are already getting .

Let's assume that you have a big email list, that the list is built genuinely (i.e. from the people who voluntarily subscribed your newsletter service, and not bought from marketplaces or randomly collected). You can monetize your email list. First of all you need email service. There are many services, I recommend mailchimp. If your list is less than 2000 subscribers you can use mailchimp for free. You will have to design your email, mailchimp has drag and drop feature. You will have to add useful and interesting information, not just products and services you are trying to sell.
