The effect of climate change on the property that you buy

I have an office mate whose brother bought a property by the seashore. It is not exactly a beach but it is a good alternative. The property was cheap 20 years ago because it has a vacation house that the brother expanded and improved. The vacation place was good for 5 years until they noticed that the sea is getting nearer and nearer the house. There used to be more than 10 meters in distance during high tide. After 10 years you can expect that the high tide would cause flooding to the vacation house. Since the land is quite big so they demolished the vacation house to give way to a new house that is farthest from the sea.

The climate change is for real and it can affect the property that you will buy. It is not only the seashore properties that has a risk but also the mountain areas can have a landslide during days of continuous rains. Now that people are moving to the country I guess we should be aware of the possible changes that global warming can cause. Even in other countries the flood is a menace because the places that are not flooded 10 years ago are now being flooded every year.
