The Best Way To Explain A Job Gap On Your Resume

If you're looking to explain your job gap on your resume, there are some things that you need to consider and some things that you don't. First, let's talk about the things you do need to include.

First of all, do NOT include a resume gap unless it's been at least six months since your last job. That's because most people who apply for jobs have spent at least six months out of work and then are looking for another job that pays more than their current one does. If you want to explain this gap on your resume, that's fine! Just make sure you tell them why you left and when it was before applying for the new position.

Second, make sure that your resume includes any education or training related to your previous job. This is especially important if you were hired as an entry-level employee or if you started at a new company within a few months of leaving a previous job. If there was no formal education process involved in hiring someone like this but instead just an informal interview process then don't include any education or training related to your previous job on your resume unless they ask specifically about it during the interview process.
